Genesis Energy manages the hydroelectric scheme which extends from the southern flanks of Mt Ruapehu to the southern part of Lake Taupō and along either side of the mountain range formed by Ruapehu, Ngaruahoe, and Tongariro.
Genesis Energy use water from the regions rivers and streams to generate about 4% of New Zealand’s electricity.
